Keep in mind this was just a quick put together to see if it works. Still need to find something for the collection cup.

I dont want to take over reefin'aggie thread so I might start a new one just for this. I just wanted to give him a few ideas.

That is cool for DIY... I think reefin'aggie was talking about a much smaller version though. The collection cup for that wouldn't fit in his sump. I am really looking forward to seeing how small the real thing is going to be.

Yes, its quite tall, but I built it with things around the house. I'm sure he could find other parts that are smaller. But the idea definitely works.

Man oh man, finally a little spare time! Sorry all for not being around. Things got hectic at work when I got back from outta town. Haven't had any time to do anything.

Canopy is finished and works beautifully. The doors are the last thing to get finished. Will probably get those done tomorrow.

I think I also figured out what this tank will house. A buddy of mine is in Hawaii (sp?) and is going to ship out a bunch of those Hawaiian shrimp that live for something like 20 years. They only get to about a 1/4" long also.

djultra you gave me a really good idea for the skimmer. I just have to see if I can find the right pieces to make what I'm thinking of.

Thanx again everyone for being so patient.

Jacob

hey, sorry i totaly wanted to try your idea with the small tanks so i made one haha i had nothing better to do yours is really nice though i just had some extra stuff laying around the house so i put one together.

display is 6Lx4Hx3W, sump is 7.5Lx4.5Wx3.5H its a total water volume of about .70 gallons im curing some DIY rubble as we speak so i'll throw some of that in there aswell. how did you do your lighting? or is there a led kit you can buy?

It's actually pretty complicated to build that array. It would take a thread in itself to explain it. It would be a lot easier to buy one premade if you can find one.

Right after I asked you your tank's specs I saw your thread...lol.

Well I am goin to bed,

Jacob

That will be a project for later. I will actually get some different sizes of clear acrylic tubing and build one.

I have a pretty good idea of how I want to do it, but it will take quite of bit of time and patience to do it right. Right now I just want to concentrate on getting this one up and running.

Can you just post a schematic and parts list? I'm sure that some people will be able to build it.
