So, I hear that if you use more than 55 gallons of water in one day you get a $1,000 fine in the great state of California starting January 1 2020

Reefing just got a whole lot more spensive.

I believe it's 55 gallons per resident in the household. I still have no clue how they will gauge this.

I read they are going to put smart meters on every house.

I guess your could save up water for a few days.

Reminds me of the part of "œthe diary of Ann Frank" where the homeowners saved up all their sugar and chocolate for months to make a cake for the Franks.

Hahahaha I call BS.

An 8 minute shower uses almost 20 gallons.

That’s what we’re hearing, you can’t take a shower and do a load of laundry in the same day.

SACRAMENTO (KUSI) – The 2018 law will make it tougher to shower and do laundry on the same day due to restrictions that limit water use. The law signed by Governor Jerry Brown will limit use now to 55 gallons a day. And by 2025, it drops to 52.5 gallons.

This law may have made good sense to some in a drought year, but at least for the beginning of 2020, snow levels and water in reservoirs are not near any drought levels.

Gov. Brown signing AB 1668 sponsored by Assemblywoman Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) and SB 606 sponsored by Senator Robert Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys), will implement strict water use limits by January 1, 2020

Mind you, this is the California legislator, You can’t put anything beyond them.

Where are you hearing this?

I googled and only found some ambiguous results.

If I took a shower, [violation], and a load of laundry I'm over!

Anyone that has small children know that you are doing laundry on the daily.

You are probably too young to remember the previous time Brown was governor but his slogan back the was:

“If it’s brown flush it down; if it’s yellow let it mellow”

Seriously, that’s his thang.

I think we may be in for some fines :(

This was a law contemplate near the height of our drought. All the reservoirs are at or above normal levels now

Need more info... but not surprised.

If I go over 15 out of 30 days they are going to fine $15,000? One slab leak, or toilet running and you don't know, that's going to cost you $1,000 in fines?

If thats truethen i need to drain my pool but then u get a fine for a empty pool time to leave california i guess

This is the latest info I could find about this topic

I think an 18 month old article may be slightly out of date

Yeah skimming the article found that the first round won't start until June 2022.

Next RAP I may just nab one of those water containers afterward.

Never know, my wife just may want to take a bath at some point.

think of how the service companies that run a business are going to have to change their rates. I also think many stores will be changing their prices for water. If one has an RODI system that produces 75 gallons a day is already in violation of this with the production and not with the waste water.
