1/2 Gallon pico

Here it is so far. Just added the overflow/powerhead tonight. I'll fill it up with water tomorrow. The water goes to, and comes from my 10 gallon sump for my 10 inch cube. I'm planning on using one of those 20 watt 50/50 power compacts in a regular desk lamp for lighting, any suggestions???

overflow and powerhead? We need pics man. Lemme see!!! I was thinking of doing one of these smaller tanks (like a 5 gallon) so i can break down my 20 and give it to my mom, it takes up too much room in my tiny room.

Well it's such small flow that the drain should be quite enough. I just called it and overflow for fun but it's just a hole that drains to the sump, and I just T-ed my pump that is going to my cube and put a ball valve on if to control the flow into the pico. It's really really low flow but it should be enough... I think?

What do you plan on keeping in there? Ide like a small zoanthid tank. That would rock.

Yeah zoo's, couple mushrooms, frogspawn, sexy shrimp, small peice of finger leather, turbo snail, and the anenimie shrimp that keeps bugging all the corals in my 10 inch cube

so someone has recently told me I propbably will not have much success with such a small tank...thoughts? Truth? Am I in for some tough times?

Well, if its actually hooked up to a sump.. i dont see why it wouldnt work. Typically, small tanks have problems because the small amount of water.. but you have it hooked up to a larger tank right? I dont see why it wouldnt work.

Yeah I'm a little worried the flow might be a bit to low.

looks like a cool little project. a zoa/shroom tank would look really cool and the sump will greatly increase your chances of scucess in my opinion. if its not enough flow cant you just make the drain holes bigger then turn up the flow on your pump?

Sorta it's up kinda high from the sump right now so it has a lot of head to over come, and I just have it T-ed off the pump to my 10 inch cube, so to get more I might be taking too much from flow from it, but we'll see. Might be needing another pump.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I wouldn't put frogspawn in there with anything else.
Looks good though!

Why not a small head of frogspawn?
