1.5' Red Carpet

Red Haddoni

Red Haddoni

So I have had this Red Haddoni for over two years now and it has decided about a year ago to move into a large sandy area behind all my rockwork. My take is 48" deep so trying to wrestle this thing is not going to happen. Does the ice cube at the base work? Also how do I get it to stay put? Is that what everyone is doing with the PVC? :debi::debi::debi:

Change your flow pattern. See if the extra flow will get it to move.

The ice does work.. Put it in a plastic bag though. Or you risk frostburn on the flesh.

IDK about the pvc... Looks like creating a fake place to make it think it is stable.

I have heard about making a bowl or rock with a large crevice and filling it with sand. to make it stay put.

Any pics?? At first I thought this thread was resurrected by some new person.. But.. it was you.. the Original Poster.... hahahahha

Ya, hahaa I resurrected it. I have not been on RC for a long time. My local club switched to Reef to Reef, and I stopped posting for awhile. Butt"¦ I'm back, Jack.
I pointed a Tunze on it for about three weeks and no movement, I also just upgraded all my lights to Radon Pros from 400 watt MH think that these new, less powerful lights might get him to move around. He moved even further in the wrong direction. I'm going to do the ice cube trick. It seems like the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I will post picks tonight.

Shut down the lights in that section he is in and see if it will move back toward the light.

I removed most of the sand around the column and put a good size rock on my Haddoni's disc. After it moved, I put the rock back on again. Eventually it detached from the tank bottom at which point I scooped it up and moved it. I have done this to both my Haddonis. I have a 30' deep tank and is about 6' tall with stand.
