Making myself a nice progress thread so I can have something to look back at!

Started the tank March 13th with water, salt, heater and filter. Added 20lbs of live sand and 15lbs of cured live rock at March 18th. Current residents are 2 hermit crabs, countless bristle worms and a couple feather dusters.

100w Elite Heater (cold room in the winter months)
72w 4-Bulb T5 HO 2 White and 2 Blue on order
Korila Nano rated at 240gph
Small Magfloat
Floating Hagen Thermometer

Forcast Livestock:
Snails/Hermits unknown amount (5-10 of each most likely)
2 Black Percs
Yellow Watchman Goby
Peppermit Shrimp
Cleaner Shrimp
Zoos
Shrooms
Hammer
Frogspawn
Various other softies
Maybe a clam(need more research before I venture into this)

Heres a quick shot of the current tank, light and powerhead yet to be added.

I've crushed some of my live rock and put it in the HOB and left enough room to grow some macro down the road, any suggestions on lighting for it?

Two weeks later and the tank is running perfect still! I have since added a few things to the mix.

Livestock:
True Perc
Peppermint Shrimp
4 Hermits
Orange/Green Zoa Frag
Hammer Frag
Couple Brittle Stars
Countless Bristle Worms

I have also added another HOB Filter for carbon/floss, a Nano Korlia for flow and my lights are up and running. 4x18W 2 White/2 Blue T5s.

Still figuring what kind of light I should use for growing cheato in the HOB refuge, any ideas?

Nice, have 10 gallon myself. currently have green star polyp, pulsing xenia, blue cloves, and some mushrooms. Had two true perc, but died from ich. Sailfin suffered the same. getting a skimmer, right now. hopefully that resolves the problem of the fishing dieing. corals are fine but fishes didnt fair so well.

Are you using an aquaclear HOB? My friend was running a nano tank with one of those and was also using it as a fuge since it was relatively translucent. Any daylight compact fluorescent bulb should work (honestly algae will almost grow under any lighting). By using a compact fluorescent your saving money on electricity, there are no heat issues, they have a long life, etc. You can pretty much then use a desklamp fixture or a clamp on lamp, pretty much anything that will take a standard bulb.

Good luck and enjoy, I'm lookin forward to seeing more pics :-)
