1000 Gallon Build- Here we go- Lots of Pictures

So on the Genesis system, you still need a ro/did storage tank correct? You would also need a salt water mixing tank? I mean it doesn't replace those correct? Anyone have a link to a video or schematic on how it's hooked up?

The Genesis Renew doesn't need an RODI tank. The only thing that requires any kind of RODI tank is an ATO. This holds true to the Genesis Storm or even an Apex controlled ATO. Any automatic water change system needs a source for fresh salt water. I.E. A salt water holding tank.

If I remember, Monday when I get to the office, I will email you a pdf copy of the power point presentation I did for the Apex user group at MACNA. Complete with notes. The subject was the implementation and use of failsafes with the Apex. It will give you some ideas for failsafes and also what I control with my Apex. The Renew falls into this equation but like I said, I use my Apex for ATO duties for what I feel to be good reasons.

Awesome. Thanks Scott.

Glad to help Sam! I promise you, if you get the Renew, you will LOVE it. Like I said, there is nothing that compares in terms of ease of use, accuracy, intuitive nature, speed of water changes, reliability etc. All other options on the market are products developed for other applications that have been adapter for water changes and while they do work for the task, they have some glaring short comings when it comes to implementation on large tanks and even small one alike.

The Renew is a product that has been developed for the sole purpose of changing water and they pretty much thought of everything. It's rare that I put a product on a pedestal like this but for this application, there is truly great reason why I do and why I cherish my Renew. As I have already stated above, there is truly nothing that compares. Nothing.

But of course- here you go...

Red label is like drinking gasoline. No offense to anyone that likes to drink gasoline. Give me a bottle of blue anyway! Black label is a staple. Actually I'm getting more and more into tequila.

raw shrimp is in place. Am monitoring levels. as levels stabilize - we will start adding fish. Am having an internal debate as to what I want to add.

I really want a french and blue face angel but that means limited corals.

guess you all will have to just wait and see....
