i started this build about three weeks ago and its my very first reef build. so here's the short grand tour.
it started as an idea.
the sump area now.
1. 3/4" siphon drain
2. filter sock
3. CPR BAK PAK Protein skimmer, modified by adding an additional air pump
4.carbon
5.bio media.
6. two egg crate racks for what ever the future may require.
7. 300 gph casada power filter, housing fliter floss at the moment, may move carbon to here, again for what ever the future may require.
8. refugium light
9.300 w heater
10.live rock, chaeto algae and sand.yes its in a large whole sized mesh bag
11.200 micron rated filter pad.
12. course sponge, was using to catch free floating chaeto algae.
13. one egg crate rack for what ever the future may require.
14 refugium thermometer.
15. reef octopus hy 7000w water blaster return pump
16. gfo reactor pulling and returning to the return chamber
17. Coralife uv lite,also pulling and returning to the return chamber
18. Hsbao w-40 Circulation pump
19. display tank thermometer.
20. return line siphon break. precisely measure based on water volume determined; to prevent sump flooding
21. TOM Aquarium Aqua Lifter Pump. to aid in kick starting the system in the event of a power out and on event.
22. DIY Siphon screen, made from pvc coupler and endcap.
23. inlet siphon break. precisely measure based on water volume determined; to prevent sump flooding, matchs height of the return line siphon break.
24. aqua lifter pump inlet line going into the sump inlet drain. aqua lifter pump sucks out air, auto starts the siphon drain.
25. aqua lifer outlet line back into the tnk once all air is gone.
