1073.50 approx. run time on battery

Hi All,

Just wondering if calcs are correct. I'm planning to connect a battery back up to my 1073.50. I will use the Tunze safety connection (6105.50) and I will be using a 12v SLA 100Ah battery. By my calc, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the pump will be running at half speed due to 12v (~22watts) so 22/12= 1.83 amps. My battery is 100Ah so I if I divide this by the pump draw (1.83amps) I get 54hours, is this correct?

Appreciate your input.

Kindest Regards,

Chris

That sounds about right, but keep in mind at 12V head pressure drops substantially. I would expect almost no flow at 1m, for this reason backing up a return pump is not terribly practical.

Thanks Roger it's for aquaculture purposes so I can't rely on wavemakers and have to rely on return pumps for this system. I've installed it all and only have the pumps set to 50%, when the pumps switch across to battery, the flow is substantiall less but still should be enough for my purposes.

Thanks so much for your response, this product is great!

OK, just so long as it works, with typical display tanks on 32" stands the flow is non existent on 12V so I wanted to be sure it would work for you.
