So after being out of the hobby for a couple years i have finally managed to start a little 10 gallon tank! i have about 3 pounds of live rock and 10 pounds of live sand in it so far. I have a nova extreme pro lighting system, and about 800 gph of filtration and water flow between my filter and power head. pics coming shortly!

the cloudiness is now gone, its been a few days so it does look somewhat better than this.

One hint, use photobucket to upload your pics to so everyone can see them max res in the thread.

Also, what do you plan for biological filtration with your limited rock?

im gunna add about 10-12 more lbs of rock, just waiting to get paid lol either tomorrow or monday i will have more rock. i need to buy new lights for my nova extreme pro as well and i have no idea where to buy them

Depending on where you buy the LR may not be fully cured, so just be patient. I've heard many good things about about Richard at TBS, but no personal experience, if you want to order LR online.

i dont plan on putting anything other than live rock into the tank for a few weeks atleast. ive have a couple tanks in the past so i know a bit about how the cycle works and when its good to go. i wanna do it the right way

I would personally look into glass-holes.com for an overflow for this tank or maybe another 10 gallon then migrate everything over.
a 10 gallone would be great for the clown goby (since they MAX at about 1 1/2") however with 2 clowns (which this tank is too small for) and a goby you are going to have a hell of a time compensating for waste.

Just make sure to stir the sand bed every so often so your not trapping nitrates and proteins in the bed. Could be a very ugly crash over time. IMO of course.

what do you mean by get another 10 gallon and migrate everything over? i plan on getting a skimmer, doing regular water changes and have a good cuc. i dont think the wast would be that big of a deal. i also dont have the tools or the know how to cut holes in the glass. im sure i could figure it out but honestly just dont want to venture into all of that. especially because this is not going to be up and running for more than maybe a year at the most.

been a while, thought i would give an update on my tank!
