10g Nano FOWLR

I am no expert at making fuges but I am sure that their are other filters that can be altered. I would save up money and get the aqua clear. I give you creadit for putting up a FOWLR with minum money. You could always ask for your birthday or Christmass for upgraded lighting to keep coral. What are you feeding your fish curently?

So tomorrow I'll be making the big substrate swith from white gravel to sand. Now I know the procedure on goin' slow and stuff like that, but my main issue is about the other life such as bristle worms and things like that. What should I do with them?

Are you going to bu live sand or just sand. Because if you just get sand you wont have any hitchhikers with it. If you get live sand there are very few bristleworms involved in those packages. Live sand will have bacteria and pods too. I have had over 300lbs. threw my door and never seen a bristle worm in the sand before adding LR. After i added live rock i had alot of bristle worms.

get the regular aragalive sand not the black. the black sand may look cool but it doesnt have the buffering capabilities or the little beneficial critters in it already like the white sand. AC filter is on sale at petco like half off.....wont find another filter as good for the price

Ok, well, heres an update. I bought the sand! And now I added it and I followed the directions that someone wrote earlier in the thread. Now the tank is kinda cloudy, and I hope that it clears up a little soon. Now I have the fish in a bucket and was wondering when it was okay to add them back in the tank, or should I leave them in there with the heater and an airstone?

Yeah, that'll clear up........only in like forever and a half! LOL. It's gettin' a tad bit better as we speak. Is it okay for me to put the LR back in?

I would turn everything off in the main tank. It will speed up the process of unclouding it. It will just keep blowing around if you have the filter on. By tonight you should be able to put the fish back in.
