10K XM Bulb Question

Hi-

I just purchased 3 10K XM 400w SE bulbs and one of the bulbs is very yellow. The other 2 are a crisp white.

To be honest if they were all a yellow or white color I wouldn't care, I am just worried that 1 of the 3 is a different color.

Do I need to allow for a burn in period or do you think there is an issue with the bulb; I did change the bulbs around to make sure it wasn't the ballast.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Keith Fitzpatrick.

Hi Keith,
It's not unheard of for XM bulbs to have differences in color. A burn in period might very well remedy the problem. If not, you should visit www.xmlighting.com and they will replace the bulb as it comes with a manufacturer's warranty.

Hi Keith,

One other thing to try is to make sure the nipple on the arc tube inside the bulb is pointing straight up, or at a slight angel. If the nipple is angled downward at all this could cause it to burn more yellow.

Let us know what the outcome is.

Thanks,
Jeremy
