I got my bubble traps redone and mounted today. They are working great now. Still some bubbles escaping into the sump but they are no longer making their way into the tank. I took Stan's advice and modified my pump feed line.

I also mounted a MH above my refugium so I can grow frags.

I need to make a shield to put around this light. Any ideas on what kind of material I can use for this that is lightweight? I'm concerned about the heat of the bulb as well so I need something that will not catch on fire.

I also mounted most of my frags and got them out of the sandbed. I hated having my sandbed cluttered with frags.

Man think your 65 looks awesome and it looks like you have nailed your wb issue with your camera . . .what camera are you using BTW?

Suggestion on your 'fuge light, why not just use reflective SS like it has now? You gotta be careful with those unprotected MH bulbs cause if they get water sprayed on them the break.. ASK me how I know that. :rolleye1:

You could also use some colored acrylic if your goal is to protect your eyes from the glare when looking into the 'fuge. I love the light but the glare, wow.

Cuby2K- I am using a Canon 10d. I have gotten better white balance but I'm still not happy with the quality of most of my shots. I guess I need to practice a little more.

Stainless steel might be the solution. Do you know if Lowes carries it in small sheets?

I used hardboard to shield the glare of the MH over the frag tank. Hinged so they swing out of the way for access.

I also replaced the plumbing from my refugium into my sump. It was 1" and I changed to 1 1/2" after my flood. I felt it was best to use larger diameter pipe to prevent any clogging. I had to make a new stockman standpipe and I used spa flex.

And finally, I finished the bubble traps. I still have some microbubbles but I think I can take care of them with a filter sock.

Now I need to figure out an auto top off and I'll be all set.

Here is the kit I use. Have a maxijet in a 36 gallon rubbermaid, in the laundry room. Drilled a hole in the side of it and siliconed the 1/4" tube into the hole and that feeds my fuge.

You are miles ahead of me Man, That is fantastic, your hard work will for sure show when your done.

BUT, I seen someone else commented on the zipties holding your lights up. I know that just might be temp, but please change it out for a perminent solution. I'm an Electrician and know for sure that all zips dryout and get brittle at some point, and with the latent heat from your lights that could happen fast. Because them light falling in, would be terrible, GFCI protected or not...But WOW GREAT JOB !!

I put him in a bucket and set a drip line for about 4 hours. No problems. They really seem to be easy to care for once you get them into the tank. I have had my other clam for about two years now.

I had read that you are not supposed to expose them to air for even one second. Is that right or just overkill?

When I last upgraded tanks I picked the rock up, put it in a holding container and then picked it back up for placement in the new tank. I wasn't thinking but I've heard that about air too. Mine is very healthy looking and is doing good but that doesn't mean I wasn't lucky.

Both clams in my tank were exposed to air when I transferred them and they are doing fine. I may have gotten lucky too. I have heard this about sponges, but not clams. I'll need to check on that because these creatures are too expensive to make a mistake with.

I have 2- 250 watt Reeflux 10k MH in Lumenarc mini reflectors. I also recently installed 2- 46.5" VHO super actinics. I can't remember how many watts they are. This seems to be plenty of light for now. The reflectors really do make a big difference. Without them, I think I would have gone with 400watt MH's.
