With a fiberglass tank the glass window does not go all the way to the edges of the tank so its easy to hide closed loop or return plumbing on either side of the window and then bury the pipe in the sand if you are not interested in drilling the tank. If you do drill the tank, use a diamond hole saw, and keep the area very wet like drilling glass to keep the fibers down and I would recommend using a respirator.

And drilling will not be needed we will hide it like you said. How many openings would be a good option for enough flow and movement behind the rocks? Would a lot of openings be better with less flow or less openings with a ton of flow?

wow that pump is really nice and it is submersible..... do you have it inside your tank or outside and how many openings do you have in your tank for your closed system

Umm pukani? I am not familiar with that kind of rock but they are very porus and have very nice shapes. And we just added the salt to the tank so we are not even checking the phosphates yet. We are currently working on the temperature and cirrculation.

Hey,

My close loop has 2 2" drains plumbed together and both pumps for my close loop intake water from here. Then the pumps are plumbed together with a manifold @ 1 1/4" x 8 1" outlets. This gives you double the rated flow with only 1 x friction lose. I am using Reeflo Dart for sump pump with 2 1 1/2" drains @ 4 1" inlets giving me a total of 12.

These are not Water Blasters plumbed together but it will show you what i am doing with them.
The blue tees feed the Water Blasters also shown with sight glass(acrylic)

Hey fellas here are those pics requested and may I say my little volcano skimmer is working wonders:bounce2::bounce3::bounce1: The bubbles are ridiculous. and now my refugium is set and perfectly still. I will be ordering the dart pumps after all for the circulation thanks a lot to all who helped so far!!!!
