RO still has a TDS reading between 25 and 100 ppm unless you meant RODI. A deionizer will polish off the the RO to a TDS of 0ppm. I use DI in my tank my roommate gets lazy and uses our RO drinking water. He has algae I do not.

Tank looks great. I struggle with hair algae also. Hopefully my tank will look as good as yours soon - even with the algae. Have you tried some of the big turbo snails? They are bull dozers but eat more algae than my sea hare or anything else. I also found that red hermits pick on the algae all day long.
