I like the stainless steel screws to hold the probes. Nice idea.
Thanks, that is the vertex probe magnet XL.

I was using the apex magnetic probe holder but decided to switch when I noticed the magnet sliding downwards over time. I like the vertex probe holder a lot better

This past weekend was a little hectic. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that I had some clear brown stringy stuff all over my live rock. I asked a few of my lfs and even showed a video of it. One place told me it was snot which was caused by over dosing carbon, which was possible. So I stopped dosing carbon. The another one told me it was a bacteria infection.

I don't have any pictures of how it looked. So this weekend I got tired of looking at this stuff all over my live rock. I spend a couple hours hand scrubbing all my live rock as I pulled each piece of live rock out I placed each rock in front of my power head and watched the stuff come of in strands so I then I soaked them all in rodi water. I gravel did a back to back water changed. I did one the day before I did this. So I gravel vac my sand bed really well in hope of cleaning my tank the best I could.

I added some bio media cause I was also told that I didn't have any media in my sump so bacteria could grow on. I added the media in between my sump baffles. The tank was cloudy which is expected since I washed my all my live rock. It is new starting to clear up.

I also added a bag of crushed crustacean sand to my fuge area of my sump.

After doing all that it wasn't a fun weekend cleaning my entire system and all the equipment, skimmer, power heads, pumps and sump. Now all I do is sit back and hope what ever it was is gone. Only time will tell.

I am trying to identify this form of macro algae. I got it a few months ago and don't know what it is and would like to identify it, plus it's growing very well in my sump.

Not sure if anyone can help but I figured it is worth a try.

Looking good. I just past my year mark on my build in June. Took a long time for my tank to stabilize, but it's finally there.

That first year after setting up is always torture!

I agree a lot of ups and downs till you get a tank setup to where you want it. I have found it difficult not to try to compare my tank with others that have had there tank (s) up and running for years.

Welll right now I want to wait till I get over my battle with green hair algae before I spend the money on corals however if I am able to find good deals on corals then I may jump on it.

Now don't get me wrong I do have some corals in the tank not as many as I want or would like to have.

I don't want to really be wasteful, but I'll get there.

Now that I have the tank just about where I want it with equipment and proper flow all I have left to get is dosing pumps and containers. And in between that I will work on getting coral and fish. I have a list that I am wanting to get which I may go through my local fish store.

I want to get
pink spotted goby
Mystic monti
Rainbow rocci
Orange Euphyilla
