130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

Mind sharing your quarantine protocol for the Venustus? Did you do cupramine and Prazi? How did it handle the medication? Getting ready to start mine and am a bit concerned.

Well a week later and have finally read through this tread up to now. Has been a very informative read and very helpfull.
Sorry to hear the cortez died its always hard loosing a friend you have known for so long. My condolences.
Have been a long time admirer of Regal and Gold flake angels and even tried a 3" Red sea regal last year but died after 4 days in QT. After reading this I see some misstakes I made and will correct once new system arrives and is up and running.
I currently have a rubbermaid 100 troff I have my few fish and some rock in from my old system which I will use for my QT system once new tank is running.
Looking to go with a Regal, Gold Flake and flame back with possiblility of a potters angel as well.
Any suggestions on order of adding to system? Was hopping to do 2 at a time as to lessen stress of adding 1 at a time to DT after QT.

PS emailed about ordering some reef frenzy food as only 1 place here in AZ has it and he is whole saler and doesnt whole sale in AZ

Thanks all great thread.

Hey Matt,

I start with a few weeks of observation and heavy feeding, 5-7+ times a day. Then to prazi- 3 rounds, then to cupramine- 2-3 rounds, then back to observation..
be careful with the cupramine, go slow and watch her reaction to it...

Get them eating and go from there...

Good luck!

I'm sure its been answered but this is a long thread lol. How often do you do water changes and how much(%)

Hey Jeep,

I wish I was more consistent, lol..
from memorial to labor day 250 gallons every 2 weeks, I have a lot of free-time!

The rest of the year, 250 every 5 weeks...

Cool, thank you., glad you are here!

The easy answer, and lol, there isn't one...
If going with a regal, gf, and fb....I would, try to get as small as possible and add at the same time...fb can be pitas...
potters is the most sensitive, you may want to reconsider...
the 100 gal as a qt for these fish is tight...have some egg crate on hand, just in case...gl...

Thanks for the info Ted, it's good to know they handled both meds. All three are eating very well at this point. I usually do half the recommended dose on cupramine every 48 hours until I get to right around .3-.4. I'll stick with that plan unless you think I should go slower.

Cool thanks will go with Regal and GF for now and planed on going around 1.5"-2" on both and adding those at same time. The 100 gal tub is only half full aprox 50 gal of water with skimmer and a mechanical filter to run carbon and what ever else I may need. Also do have egg crate on hand and jsut recieved last week a 6"x6"x12" aclimation box. Will see on dwarfs after those 2 are quaratined and added to DT.

excellent...watch how they respond, that is the best barometer...but it sounds good!

This pic is above but it is the last one I got of my very dear friend.
She is so missed.

Ted,

Late to your thread announcement about your Cortez, but I try to keep up with your great collection (need to sub). Sorry for your loss. I've had a percula clownfish for about 14 (2000) years now and you really get attached for the many of the reasons you describe.
