hows it going guys,

I got my tank running using the water outta my 20long into the new 40 breeder.

I want to do mostly sps, but the lighting i have on ther is 150hqi and 2/65 watt actinics w/2moonlights.

I can keep most sps right,??

I Am also setting up a 45 corner hex with a 400 watt pendent on there what sps will work in the 40 breeder,

I want colors.

I know the 45 is going to be the tank where i can have any sps but i want the 40 breeder looking colorful with sps.

thanx

Chris

perfect just what i wanted to here because i have these on the way.

Blue tip table acro
Purple polyp Seriatapora hystrix
Electric green Ora Microphthalma
hydrophora colony
2" acro frag-blue

Cant wait to get this tank full of sps.

should be fun.

By your description you have the Aqualight Pro setup correct?

I just had it and upgraded to the 250's of the same model......I found it harder to get the growth rates that I wanted.....because of the PAR on the 150's with 14k bulbs.

Yes you can keep SPS, but they will be easier to brown and won't have the "best" coloration. In addition you will be limited to the top half of the tank....the bottom is a little dim....Since I switched, it is literaly like night and day between the two and should have gone to 250s from the get go. My coloration and growth rates are suberb.......

If you decided to due a full blown SPS tank with other than a 10K bulb, you may want to upgrade like I did.....but it is possible with just the 150's

I didn't get any of the purples or blues until then......

a 40 breeder is only 12'' high no worrys I have had sps growing on the bottom of my 180 with 250 lamps and the tank was 24'' deep also had great color. Water quality is just as inportant as lighting

I am running two 150w hqi bulbs over my 46 bowfront and I have alot of sps in my tank.

If you really want to light that tank nicely, get another 150 hqi.

Good luck and post some pictures...
