1500 gal. Reef from Start to Finish...

what a build. Professional results, as always.

Did you ever do anything about your circulation problems with the Tunze's?

OK, so I snapped a few photos of the aquarium today while we were there to service it. I was a little disappointed to find a few of the mouths in a new acan lord colony had been eaten. We soon found the copperband butterfly have a snack. Too bad, the owner of the aquarium was really starting to like acans. We pulled it today and will try some other corals.

Brandon, who helped a ton on this project, moved to Australia earlier in the year. He was the photographer in the group and has a nicer camera than mine but I gave it a go.

We have had some great growth this past year on the sps corals. There were a few hicups along the way losing a couple of corals and having to frag some pieces of sps to get ahead of some rtn events, but overall we have been pleased. The Tunze 6301s did great for a while but we did have a couple of problems with them. I sent them back and Roger from Tunze replaced them under warranty with some 6305s. In my opinion, the 6305s are much better considering the ease of cleaning and design. Since we replaced them over 6 months ago, and as long as we do a cleaning from time to time, they have worked great. We are in the process of building a 11oo gallon reef at another location and I will be ordering these 6305s for that project.

Thanks for the nudge to get the photos updated Joe, if you are back in Colorado anytime soon you are welcome to come over and see this aquarium in person!

wow, excellent growth, even at the bottom, I think the height of the tank really adds a lot, congrats on a very successful endeavor and thanks again for sharing it with us

Nice tank, how often do you service the tank, what % of water is replaced, does the client own the livestock or rent it. How much have the yellow tangs grown since you first put them in the tank.

We service the aquarium a couple times per week, we are also there for the 900g fish only aquarium. It is also close to a few other accounts so some of our visits are quick. We change about 10% weekly. the yellow tangs were slightly smaller when we put them in, they really have not grown all that much. The blue tangs on the other hand have grown quite large.

Thanks!

So Many Questions

So Many Questions

:bounce1: Wow!! by far the cleanest, nicest most complete setup I have ever seen for that magnitude. Very nice work guys!!

Questions:

1. Is it acrylic?

2. What is the value of Materials here excluding fish, coral/live rock, the Labour you guys put into it. (hope it's not rude to ask, just wondering about my next step from my 330g system)

3. Are you running a calcium reactor?

Keep up the nice work!! You guys are pro's!!

Great looking tanks and also cabinet work. Can you tell us a little about the cabinet work in the main office? Looks like the panels attach with magnets to the steel frame? Who built it and how's it holding up?
