that has been a long time again
still on the ship on top of the Barrier Reef in Australia and just got some updated pictures of my tank back home from the wife.
First time I see something from the tank myself in almost 3 months now
so will upload them by tomorrow for all of you to see
can tell you now it looks good and some good growth in the tank going on
so little more patience

It speaks very well of the stability of your system that you can travel for months at a time and leave your tank maintenance to someone else, especially to a spousal unit.

took me years of training hahaha
I am very impressed I must say too
I even had good growth if you look at previous pictures some of those corals started as little rock. The hammers has gone at least 50% bigger

some more pictures the wife took while I am still on the ship
This is the outside sea horse tank (no seahorses yet though) with the red algae that I got from the Mater Chingchai himself it started as a large softball size which I pulled a bit apart and spread out over the tank and as you can see it is doing quit good with several balls forming

Forgive me if I didn't go through the whole thread, and the answer might be there, but is the Sea Horse tank plumbed into the main tank system? Or does it have its own sump, etc?

plumbed into the main system
with the water change system plumbed between the seahorse tank and the main system

10 more days and I will get off this ship and be heading back home
cant wait any longer those days go soooooo slow now

Home now for a week and have been assessing some problems encountered with the tank on my return as the wife said the tank was spiraling down for the last week before I got home with lots of algae growth and certain corals looking very unhappy.
#1 Pump to the chiller was not operating
#2 main return pump operating at 50%
#3 a few flow pumps not operational.
anyway have disconnected the Reeflo Barracuda for now to clean it up and has it checked and needed a new bearing with some other smaller repairs. Anyway the Reeflo Barracuda will no longer be connected to the tank anyway as I now will go to a 2 pump type return line with 2 12000LpH return pumps with one on a timer only working during the day time to slow down flow at night thus having more nutrients available during the night hours and on top of that saving some electricity in one push. Both pumps used will be Zetlight DC12000 pumps.
Had the pump to the chiller replaced and have the tank now back on temperature sitting now at 26.5C (79.7F) as when I came home tank was sitting at 28.5C (83.3F)
will be disconnecting all flow pumps and get them all cleaned up hoping that would solve most problems there.
Since temp came back and return flow was back set up, have one pump installed already and second pump ready to be installed later this week, most corals seem to recover well and algae is going down.
will also be breaking down the complete closed loop and install new intakes for both closed loop pumps so less to no sand can get back into the oceans motions as they seem to block with the slightest particle of sand in there so having those intakes low to the sand bed was not a good idea. So will remove both tables and have pillars installed to have a complete new look to the tank with the intakes of the pumps much higher in the tank.
anyway pictures will follow when I work goes along.

a few pictures on the progress
this is where the old Reeflo Barracuda sat before I took it out of the system

This is one of the 2 new DC12000 pumps from Zetlight (the orange one in the front) 1 more just like that will come sit right next to this one.

and the plumbing done today to install the new pump into the system
