Home now for a week and have been assessing some problems encountered with the tank on my return as the wife said the tank was spiraling down for the last week before I got home with lots of algae growth and certain corals looking very unhappy.
#1 Pump to the chiller was not operating
#2 main return pump operating at 50%
#3 a few flow pumps not operational.
anyway have disconnected the Reeflo Barracuda for now to clean it up and has it checked and needed a new bearing with some other smaller repairs. Anyway the Reeflo Barracuda will no longer be connected to the tank anyway as I now will go to a 2 pump type return line with 2 12000LpH return pumps with one on a timer only working during the day time to slow down flow at night thus having more nutrients available during the night hours and on top of that saving some electricity in one push. Both pumps used will be Zetlight DC12000 pumps.
Had the pump to the chiller replaced and have the tank now back on temperature sitting now at 26.5C (79.7F) as when I came home tank was sitting at 28.5C (83.3F)
will be disconnecting all flow pumps and get them all cleaned up hoping that would solve most problems there.
Since temp came back and return flow was back set up, have one pump installed already and second pump ready to be installed later this week, most corals seem to recover well and algae is going down.
will also be breaking down the complete closed loop and install new intakes for both closed loop pumps so less to no sand can get back into the oceans motions as they seem to block with the slightest particle of sand in there so having those intakes low to the sand bed was not a good idea. So will remove both tables and have pillars installed to have a complete new look to the tank with the intakes of the pumps much higher in the tank.
anyway pictures will follow when I work goes along.
