Our condo doesn't leave us the generator option, which is really unfortunate. Its actually forbidden by the condo by-laws because of excessive noise. However a generator is item #1 on our to buy for the house. The plan is to have the generator automatically come on and turn off in the event of an outage.
I've looked at the VorTechs (the MP40W), along with with a battery back up. Is the price really worth it? I'm looking at ~$750 for the powerhead, wireless driver, battery back up, plus shipping and taxes. I am honestly afraid of the price. I have also never seen one in person as they are all items that need to be ordered in.
I'm hoping I'll be able to see some things like the VorTechs at MACNA. There is just so much cool stuff that never makes it up to Canada that I'm dying to see.
