180 Gallon Azoo Tank

So far I have to say the dendros are doing well. They are inflated most of the day.

I have not built the feeding apparatus but will be doing your kalk reactor idea. Right now I am dosing food in 2-4x a day with the mixture being
Coral Frenzy
Rotifeast
Phytofeast
Oysterfeast

Cool deal. That ATS will be put to work for sure. I just ordered another syringe pump, so I will have 2 syringe pumps. 1 for Shellfish Diet and 1 for Roti-Feast (right now I alternate every 12 h). Then for the kalk reactor (not my idea BTW) I dose the FM foods + cyclopleeze. Just want to cover all bases!

Well here is another update on the tank.

I have been running the tank on minimal current since I blew the power supply on the vortech. A new one is in the mail. They have awesome customer service.

Here is a shot of the ATS. I put a new coarser screen in on Tuesday. It is begining the first stage of setting up.

Today I got in 7 more dendros which puts the total up to 13. One came in a little damaged so Im worried on that one.

I will have to get some new shots once everyone settles in.

I have started to add vodka to the tank at a rate of about 2-3ml a day. Food wise I am still using Oyster Feast, Phytofeast, Rotifeast, and Coral Frenzy.
I have not set up a doser just yet so Im relying on 2-4 feedings a day by hand.

I have also decided to blow the sand bed every other day to stir up the detritus down there.

The ATS is coming along nicely. I did the first cleaning of it today also.

I finally got a cheap continous feeder hooked up.

I took an airpump and an aqualifter pump with a needle valve on the out put and viola my continous doser and a way to keep the solution mixed

Tonight Im shooting for some new coral pics

Well update on the tank 1/13

Some of the dendros are opening up nice, but I have seen others shrink in size.

The tank levels are not quite optimum yet as the ATS is still setting itself up

KH - 11 dkh
Nitrates- 40-50ppm
Phosphates - 2 ppm

I will snag a photo of the ATS tonight as it has some real good growth

I added a Koralia 8 onto the tank so the water flow is
Vortech - 3000gph
Koralia 8 - 3200gph
Tunze Nanostream - 1500gph

7700gph which comes to 42x turnover right now

I still have not gotten the 24 hour feeder going so as of right now the tank is really only getting 2 heavy feedings sometimes 3 a day.

The food is always refrigerated. At the moment I squirt about 25 ml of Phytofeast, 10 ml Rotifeast, 15 ml of Oyster and then mix in Coral Frenzy, Frozen Cyclops and Rotifers. I let it stand for about 5 - 10 min then in it goes

I also started adding Lugols, Brightwell KoralKolor, and the marine VM

I have abandoned the aqualifter right now because it was dosing everything within a half hour. I need to get a better needle valve and a timer for it so it switches on every hour or so and I can get a slower dose rate.

Lol.
Nothing is being dosed out of any equipment right now. I am just pouring in a heavy feeding by hand in the morning, when I can home , and right before bed.
The aqualifter wasnt working out like I wanted.

I just went ahead and ordered my infusion pump. I am hoping this will help with the dendroneptheas as some of them are shrinking and I think its due to only 2x heavy feedings a day.
