180 Gallon Azoo Tank

@ReefMonger that aussie sun coral that you picked up from Cherry Corals is huge! Would be interested to find out how many blocks of mysis that is going to eat?

Mike

Ya Im curious what the food bill will be for that coral alone. He ate some PE today but wasnt fully open today. That purple and orange disto is gorgeous. I want a hot pink one. I really havent noticed any feeder tentacles yet.

See how many dozens of cubes of mysis it eats a week once all the polyps are open.

Try putting a flashlight on the Distichopora at night time after the lights have been off for a few hours, should be able to see the feeder tentacles (very thin).

That was the pic Melissa sent me on Thursday afternoon. I missed out on it when it was at the wholesaler they picked it up from earlier that week. Here is a better picture of it http://twitpic.com/15a2lv

Mike,

Thanks for the link of the better photograph...I was in such a rush to buy the coral when I saw it I never got a chance to save a picture of it without the "sold" banner across it.

You must have connections my friend! I feel very lucky to have landed that coral now seeing as you had access at the wholesale level, and then tipped off by (LA/DD Melissa). I guess I was in the right place at the right time. It is an amazing looking specimen. I have been looking for that color morph for quite sometime now.

ReefMonger your tank is looking killer...love the pics

Keep us update rowjimmy on how it does, I'd like to try some as well for my new tank pending others experiences. Are you planning to keep it completely in the dark?

No problem, thanks. You beat me by only seconds, but that is all it takes. I was in meeting, had my phone off that day when I got texted that Distichopora came in and if I wanted one. LA is quick. The coral is very beautiful and I wish you the best of luck with it. I am looking for a lime green and blue/purple morph. I will give you a hint of what is coming in next: West Africa and Brazil.

Will do. No... I'm keeping it in a shaded spot in my aquarium.

Thanks...I would LOVE to find the lime green and blue/purple morph! I've only seen those in pictures though...never offered for sale to the hobby.

Do you have any pictures of them? If so, can you post them here please?

Sorry I don't have any pics to post of that particular color morph. I've seen pics of it in the 20+ years I've been interested in marine life though. It does exist (Mike can back me up on this one), but it is a rare color morph.

Doing a basic internet search just brings up the typical pink and purple color morphs.

I came across this gem though...it is not the lime green w/ blue/purple, but it is a nice shade of blue. I'm sure someone on this board has a pic of what we are talking about.
