180 gallon tank advice

Hey guys, I found a 180 gallon tank on OfferUp for $100 sounds too good to be true. When I look at the photos I don't see any braces for the tank with exception of what looks like a glass brace.

Can you guys have a look at the only 2 photos the seller posted and let me know what you think. I know it needs to be cleaned but I'm wondering if it looks safe to hold water. TIA

How far is it from you? May be worth a trip just to check out.

Next town over, I plan on checking it out but I know nothing of that glass center brace if it's something that was added or if some 180 gallon tanks have it

Hard to tell for sure from the photos, but it looks like an old oceanic 180. The larger oceanic tanks had a large glass brace in the middle. If it is, they were very well made. Probably quite old though. If the seller tries to tell you it's a 5 year old tank I'd call bull$hit.

I'll go check it out if it looks decent has good seams and only needs cleaning I'll probably pick it up, $100 is a good price

You can always strip out the old inner seams and re-seal it too. They come out real easy with a razor blade. Just dont get in between the glass seams.

Took the words right outs my keyboard! If the seller tries to tell you it's a 25 year old tank, I'd believe him. Plan on 4 guys to move it. 4 big guys.

I would stay away from it, there will be better deals. I would be careful with a tank that old. Even if it were up and running it's always going to be in the back of your head whether or not something will go wrong.

I had a Oceanic 150g long that I purchased new in 1990. When I got married in 2001, it sat in our garage for about 7 years until I got the basement finished and had a place to set it up. While it was in the garage, I stored it on edge and used it to keep all my shovels and what-not in. I leak tested it and put it back into service. I sold it a couple years ago with no reservations whatsoever. IMHO/IME, they just don't make them like that anymore.

Thanks for all the input guys, so far the seller hasn't responded so I'm not holding my breath that it's still available
