Yes it does, in addition to the bends in the plumbing. I think you'll be fine with that pump. I've been reading along, having a similar set up. Just wondering what your sump has now transformed into? I have my stuff on a 4 foot high stand. If I could do it over, I would definitely made it 3 foot or even 2.5. I was concerned about head loss, but it has proven not to be an issue. Now I have to stand on a step-stool to tinker with most things. Not how I had envisioned it.
One bit of advice I can give, What ever you direct your water into in the basement, be sure it is large enough, and potentially covered. Water fed from a barracuda, then into an overflow that pours out the floor below, is really movin!!! My inital sump could not handle the flow, and I had to throttle back my pump. I added a 20 gallon "catcher tank" that is covered to handle it. It empties via a 2.5 inch bulkhead into the sump. This allows for enough flow, but removes the turbidity that 8-10 feet of gravity added to my water from the overflows.
Anyway, I'm so happy you're on your way. I know we talked periodically as you were gearing up. Stand looks amazing.
What are you gonna light that with? Canopy? No canopy?
