180 reef wishlist. suggestions needed

Hey guys,

I have a 55 reef right now and in the next two months I am going to start my new tank. I want to use my 55 for a DIY fuge. I have 2 VHOs, a 250 20k MH that I will use somehow and moonlights. But I need suggestions on what I should start to buy.

I have an Iwaki 40RLXT for my return and it seems to be pushing a lot more water through the sump than I care for. I throttled it back and the noise/micro bubbles has reduced, if not disappeared. I plan to go to a Mak4 (PCX-30) or similar.

I run an MRC brand MR-2 powered by a PCX-55 pump.

Water motion is up in the air at the moment, but leaning towards Seio's, (until I can get teh Tunze's). I currently run 4 MJ1200's on a Red Sea Wavemaker but plan to sell that and move up shortly.

Lights. 3 x 250w, 14k. I just removed the actinics today.

Roughly 130 lbs of live rock in tank and fuge. Bare Bottom tank, but 3" of live sand in the sump.

I just setup a 180 and am using a Velocity T4 for the return..Quiet and no bubbles.I like low flow through the sump and will use Tunze's for flow in the tank

Get as big a skimmer as you can fit
