180G Home Video Look Inside =)

This tank is great. I love SPS just as much as the other reefer, but softies and LPS are just as beautiful with all the movement and variety.

I love how this tank looks mature, rather than just a tank full of small frags or colonies.

Looks awesome.

Thought I would share an updated video taken today, some new corals and fish and small changes to aquascape.

Awesome!! Always great to see a tank that has done well long term. How long have you had the idol now? I love the Idol and the bicolor. Does the bicolor nip at anything? Also, what setting do you have your Vortechs on? Any equipment changes?

Thanks :)

I have had the idol for about 19 months approx. He is doing very well huge appetite and very active in the tank. The bicolor does nip around a little at a few things but nothing serious enough to cause any major harm.
The vortechs are actually set on the lowest speed/power in reef mode anti snyc and there has been no changes to equipment

I love seeing tanks that aren't dominated with stonies. It's a very nice change of pace. Beautiful setup, well done.

Yes, that is a awesome looking tank! I always loved soft flowing corals!

What anemonee is that and what clowns? I want to get a carpet, just not sure which type? any issues with it?

Also are your sun corals always open like that or just for the video? They look so much better when open. Did you have to train them some how??

Thanks,

looks totally awesome! this is the exact look I was going for! I absolute love hammers and frogspawn! how is the copperband doing? I would love to have one but know how difficult they can be. What does he eat?

There is 2 carpets one blue/purple the other greenish they are both
(Stichodactyla haddoni). No issues with them but they sting pretty bad. There is always a few RBTA in there.
The clowns are Ocellaris Clownfish are they are mated and ley eggs about evert 2 weeks or so it seems.

The sun corals are pretty much always open they actually open even more then in the video at specific times. I just broadcast feed reef chilli and several other liquid reef foods often to the tank so they are always ready to eat.

Thanks for looking =)

The copperband is fairly new to the tank about 1 month now .. the first day or 2 in the tank it did not eat anything and was a bit shy. The yellow tang bullied it a little but soon lost interest. After it got comfortable and started swimming about exploring thats when it started eating. It ate all the aptasia that where around the tank .. that was great no more aptasia :uzi: and grazes around all day .. from the food that I feed the tank it only eats frozens mysis and nothing else it now seems to be doing very well seems comfortable and happy.

do the anemonee's stay put? How big are they? Are they on rock or the bottom? Do you feed them at all? How quick did the clowns take to the anemomee's
Thanks again

The anemonees stayed right were I put them when I first got them. They did not move much at all ... an anemone that moves allot usually means its unhappy. The problem I was having is that they open up really big in the middle of the day and they were touching other corals that were not compatible with them and would harm them so I placed them both on their own rock that is seperated from the main aquascape so they dont touch anything when they open. anemone island :) The clowns took to the green carpet right away .. they actually use to live in the RBTA and when I put the carpet in I kinda guided the clowns over towards it and they showed immediate interest and were hosting within a day or 2. That was long ago the green carpet it is pretty old the blue one is fairly new and they swim between the 2 carpets hosting in both. I feed live brines and other reef foods often and they eat that I also on occasion will give them a peace of frozen shrimp thawed out.

VERY nice man. Very nice indeed. I am surprised you dont have any problems with that frog being so close to the other stuff? My frog has stung 2 different LPS.

the frogs are perched up on some rocks uptop and the currents are set so they do not extend or blow into any other corals. The only thing up there with them is a hammer .. hammers or frogs dont seem to bother eachother.
