I know, Mike. We both love kids, but just not sure if we're ready for that responsibility and giving up our lifestyle - you know, just packing up for a weekend trip, or eating wherever we want, or watching whatever movie we want, etc. :)

Terry -- having been through the whole process I can confirm: You are on to something! I wouldn't recommend kids until you're ready for the ride (and that means at 3 years per kid of a life radically different from what you know now).

life directly in the bay area is particularly gnarly in this regard...

One thing that i have learn that you will never be ready. I have been married for 7 years and finally i said "Let have kid". By the way, i was waiting on my promotion...

Hey Tony - thx for the support :) We have many young neices and nephews, and many friends with young ones. Yes, kids will change your life for the good, but there is a big time committment involved. We see it with our own eyes. We want to be *willing* to devote the time needed to raise children properly.

Some people we know say we're selfish because we "want to do our own thing" still. But we think the opposite. We think we're not being selfish by not bringing someone into the world when we're "not there" yet. We still love to travel, etc, so we want to get all that stuff our of our system 1st :)

Haha course not, :)

:) To bring this thread back on track, I will go look for some Amphiprion Ocellaris as my next additions.

Better, GSM? :D

BTW, that's a sweet pic of your clown!

wow this thread really made me think...I know im def not readyfor any kids

LOL, this thread helps people on all fronts! Not just reefing :)

OK, back to my tank :) I think my drains are due for a cleaning. I replaced my filter bags tonight, and noticed the drain has slowed a bit.

What's the best way to clean my drains? Take a toilet snake and run it through?

Steve will be buying fishes for the Denver Aquariums not for his display that's what he meant :D. so Tbone38 by now, im hungry again. will you be getting pair mated clowns and some anemone too? those black perc will be a great addition

I want Australian black percs. I'm hesitant on an anemone. I bought a single, baby RBTA in my last tank, and ended up with 9, with tentacles swaying all over the place.

With all the SPS I have this time, I'm hesitant to have a repeat performance. I hope my clowns can host my Frogspawn or Hammer :)

my friends clown host a bubble coral, so you might get lucky. i been looking for a pair black percula myself, but probably wait few more months.

Yes the clowns might go hosting in the Frogspawn or hammer. But i was thinking about getting a RBTA for my tank and then decided not to because they can kill your whole reef when they are moving. I also dont like how they split as much.

I had an RBTA in my tank for almost 2yrs without splitting. It grew from 1.5" to over 10" and it never move either. When i decided to take it out of the tank, i have to remove the whole rock.... :D

there is no such thing as a black perc. ;)

once my BTAs finds a place they like they tend to stay there.
