Nice lights! Havent seen those in the U.S.

Thanks! Reefgeek is the only US distributor, and they're just starting to trickle into his store! I've been on the pre-order list since April.

I had halides/actinics/chiller on my last tank. I wanted to save some on my electrical bills this time around, and so decided on the T5-only tank. With the Powermoduls, I can still keep SPS w/o need for halides/chiller.

tbone, it's looking awesome. I love the powermodules as well, they are really nice. I am looking forward to seeing them in action.

You went with 2x36" 8 bulbs is that correct? Nice choice.

Christmas already, tbone28 those are some high tech fixtures. how will the fixtures be mounted?

Waxxie -

Thanks! Yup, went with (2) of the 8x39 watters. I've got 6' of coverage left-to-right on a 6' tank, and 17" coverage front-to-back on a 24" deep tank, which should be fine because I don't plan on stacking rock on the back/front wall of the tank

Christmas indeed! Actually, it was not a hard sell to my wife. We had halides last time, a chiller, and a huge electricty bill. I told her the flourescents don't require a chiller!

The lights are going to be screwed into the 2x4's

:D always good to trade with wife, how many circuits will you have with all the equipments? i see two 20amps?

I only have (1) dedicated 20-amp circuit to the tank, which should be plenty. I think I"m drawing a total of 11amps from my whole set-up. As a backup, I'm going to plug one of my Tunzes into a separate cirucit (kitchen) - this is the receptacle on the left-hand side which you see in the pic. This 2nd circuit is "empty", as it controls the receptacles above the kitchen counter - I'll never have anything plugged into those receptacles.

It's pretty cool that now with t5's, low wattage powerheads and NW skimmers how much we can save in electricity. I think you should be fine with 20 amps... I'm not expert though =)

Hi Guys, I do have an update. I added (4) more 2x4's in order to hang the lights. I also stained the wood frame around the tank and painted the wall behind the tank with some semi-gloss paint. The best update: I hung the lights this afternoon! Pics to come...

Can't wait to see the result! Love those light, i have seen them in person, very well built but its also quite expensive!

I have to tell you that i am in love with your stand looks!
Looking foward to this fanstastic build! :)

Here are the pics of the fixtures installed. Lights look great. I love the color. The hardware is extremely easy to use. The fixture moves up/down quite easily. The fans are extremely quiet too!

Here, you can see the (4) additional 2x4's I added, to which the fixtures are hung. You can also see the solid, brown stain I painted onto the framing:

LOL...Jetson's kitchen? Yes, we are into a more contemporary look.

lol more like the Brady Bunch kitchen....looks like a 70s throwback. looks like my kitchen in my old home, funny how he calls it contemporary...looks everything comes full circle!

I looked at Reefgeek and could not find that fixture. Did they stop takeing orders for it? What is the price for that fixture?

Reefgeek doesn't have those fixtures on their website. Give Greg a call, and he can get you on the waiting list. He can also give you prices

Looking awesome Tbone, I love the lights! I was looking into powermodules a while back (for my "next" tank that may or may not ever see the light of day).

Greg said that you can get on the waiting list without a deposit, but the line is LONG.

Thanks, Waxxie. Yes, the list is long, but get on it as many people drop off due to the wait. I got on the list myself many months back for both the 6x39 and 8x39. I preferred the 8-bulb fixture. Luckily for me, that one became available first. And yes, no deposit is required!
