I live in Inner Sunset right off of 7th and Lawton. :D

43rd/Irving here! My uncle lives right by you, up in the hill a little.

You are going to be filling this up "6 gallon freshwater reservoir for auto top-off" about every 2 to 3 days due to evaporation.

Yes, I know but I don't have room for any external storage container, as my tank is in the kitchen...this is the best I could do. At least, I'm able to keep my water level constant. Harder to do if I manually top off my sump

Hi, nice tank!

How did they glue the acrylic eurobrace to a glass tank? I've always been told acrylic and glass don't bond together.

Thanks! How they do it is a very common question I get. I asked A.G.E, and they won't reveal their secret, as this is their niche in the custom tank industry.

A.G.E has never had a tank leak on them.

It's probably one of those "Don't try at home" things :)

LOL, I'd say so. I do remember seeing another thread - someone building their own tank with glass sides and PVC bottom - not sure how that turned out, as I haven't been following the updates

UV Curing Adhesive Resins. A.G.E did not invent this process or the product!!!

You're correct, A.G.E did not invent this - I did not say that. Tom (from A.G.E) told me that this process was developed in the 70's. Because of the higher costs involved, this process never became popular. He has chosen not to disclose the "secret".

UV curable products are everywhere from sealants to paints, printing inks and many other products. They are the future for many industries that currently rely on petroleum based, high VOC solvents and products.

I give AGE kudos if they are using UV curable materials. Not only is the equipment highly expensive, but the UV curable materials cost 2x to 3X+ as much as solvent based products. Its a serious investment for a small company.

Tom did mention that one reason his tanks cost more than other custom tanks is because of the huge investment in equipment.

Got THE call from Greg@Reefgeek late Friday afternoon that my ATI Powermodules have arrived! They are going to ship today, and should have them by Wednesday! Woo Hoo! I've been waiting almost 5 months for these fixtures. Will post pics when they come in!

OMG that kitchen is the future  and great planning. i noticed your furniture are still wrap, when do you expect to moved in? this setup is very clean

Thanks for your complement! We're moved in, but not quite settled yet. We're trying to get some of the dirty remodelling completed before we unwrap our furniture. Our countertops are going in today, backsplash next Monday.

My ATI Powermodules came in!!

They are NICE, and well made
