when mercedes builds a car that handles like a BMW or porsche let me know, until then i wont say they are old people cars but definitely not a youth oriented brand ;)

Youre right with that GSM. BUUTTT, Mercedes are also bigger with the plush/comfort factor. You wouldnt believe how many people (yes, usually older lol) come into the dealership complaining their BMW doesnt ride as soft or as quiet as their last MBZ did. I mean unless you get an E63 or something (new 7 series), your ride will be a little stiffer than a benz, and it will handle better. You will be hard pressed to find a Benz that performs like a BMW, but hard pressed to find a BMW that rides as soft and cushy as a MBZ.

So there are pros and cons with both companies. It juts so happens that the pros of BMWs cater to the younger crows, while the MBZ caters towards the older crowd.

Do they show Top Gear over there?

not really, but i have seen every episode ever made, along with all of Jeremy's old specials and his books.

Im kinda a fan....

When BMW's are no longer ugly (besides the current 3 and X5), I might be interested again. I loved BMW's til Bangle took over design.

New BMWs are ugly, you are right. The new 3 series E92 coupe is sexy, and the new X5s are nice as well. I think youre right with the rest of the new models being ugly, I Really do not like them at all. I enjoy the E39 (97-03 5 series), E30s and especially E46. I always complain that the new models just dont have that BMW classic appeal to them.

Ok, the M6, I forgot about that. how can you NOT like the M6? That is a sexy sexy car. Im not too big of a fan of the 5s headlights, and the 7 is just too big. Its amazing how huge these cars have gotten over the generations.

I own an E30 and an E46, and its amazing the size difference. The new E90 3 series are the same dang size as the E38 7 series. Its kinda sickening.

Also another I forgot is the new 1 series, that thing is the size a 3 is SUPPOSED to be. I just wish the 1 series E87 hatch came to the states. I know the 134D should be here this fall.

Im ok with any European cars for the most part. If you own a car, it should be European, and if you own a truck it should be american. End of story IMO.

Kane - m6 has a nice profile, front and butt are ugly

I was just making a point by saying that current BMW's are ugly - Namely, it's often times best to keep negative comments to yourself, as you don't know who your comments are affecting. I'm sure that there are some diehard BMW followers who were stung by my comments.

I know we are all passionate about many things in life, and it's great to show your compassion for those things you love, but you really need to be careful with your choice of words when you show your love for a product by bashing other lines ;)

Terry, I think youre kinda right with the nose end. I dont like how it rounds so much. I think it would have been nicer if it was a TOUCH flatter, or lower on the front. Im not offended by any of the comments. And hopefully you arent offended by anything I Was spewing out lol. If so, Im sorry. If not, well then Im not sorry =) lol

My next door neighbor has a current gen M5. Neighbor across the street traded in his M5 for an M6. Neither style has grown on me yet. haven't looked at the interior of an M5, but I'm not a fan of the cheap, plastic-looking interior of the 5-series - at least not a fan for that kind of money

I think youre right Terry, theyre very "plasticy". The last generation of M5s were so much nicer.

E39 M5, E46 M3, E30 M3.... Id probbaly have to go with the E30 M3 as my favorite, just because of the nostalgia factor.

Those 2 M3s are also on my list of bmw favs. I had been hoping, year after year, that they would extend the exhaust pipes on the E46 closer to the edges. They're too centered for me. Keeps reminding me of a Boxster exhaust. Looks like the next gen M3 will continue with the semi-centered dual exhaust.

Moving it out a little will do wonders in the looks department, IMO
