Geez, all this talk about BMWs is making me sick! I've work for BMW for 13yrs and I personally think they are junk! I've owned 4! BTW an e63 is not a 7series! The new cars are so over engineered its ridiculous. The e39 m5 is a great car until the carbon problems show its ugly head or your vanos goes out then your looking at repair bills that are more than the car is worth. The new m3? who the hell would pay $70k plus for a 3er? Ours are sitting on the lot.
Thats an ignorant statement. First off, dealers arent supposed to sell their M3s yet lol. So THATS why its still on the lot. We have 3 in the rear of the dealership which are already sold. But maybe it has to do with how our dealership is ran in a higher end part of the nation as opposed to.... well... Georgia.
$70k+ for a 3er? I dont know where youre getting that from. One, its not even in the 3 series realm, its in the M realm. Two, they start out at about $60k (A hair under actually). So if you compare the E92 M3 to the E46 M3, they are roughly the same price, and you get almost 100 hp more. So really, how is that NOT a good deal?
As for the 7 not being an E63, youre right, its the new 6. The 7 is an E65 WHOOPS. I threw out 10 different generations, I got one wrong, big deal.
As for the vanos going bad on an M5, it is not more than the car is worth. The day I see a $30,000 vanos repair RO will be the first lol. Ive seen many many M5s in my day. A few techs actually have them at the dealership. They require regular maintenance, which every car does. You would have Vanos problems with every car, assuming they were advanced enough to have VANOS.
Nice broad ignorant statement though
