Updates

My Giants are still in 1st place

My Niners lost a tough one tonight :(

Tank updates:

Flow: Previously, had (2) 6201, (2) 6101, 6025, and 6045. Now running (3) 6205, (1) 6201 (with a 6205 on the way to replace it), 6025, and 6045.

Pests: I'm pretty much done stocking my tank with frags. VERY HAPPY I escaped that whole RB, AEFW, Monti-eating nudi episode this time around, so I can just sit back, enjoy, and watch my tank grow in this time around

Sand: After 3 years, I finally replaced the sandbed :inlove:

I went from this crap sand:

To this:

I think I will be replacing the sandbed much more frequently now. Makes it feel like a new tank again.

A few more amateur shots of the tank:

Looking really nice Terry, The corals are really growing and I love the new sand bed. Your tank looks great now, it a few months it will look amazing

Probably a dumb question, but when you replace the sand, how do you recoup all the detrivores? Are you sifting the old sand to find them, or do you just go out and buy all new sand cleaner crews?

Thx,

Dave.M

Good stuff Terry. I'm glad your tank is doing well

Thanks guys. My frags are slow growing. I'm wondering if it's because I keep my alk lower at 8?

My only CUC consisted of 3 sandsifting stars, so they were easy to find. Also, I didn't remove the entire sandbed all at once. Over the course of many months, I had been removing a little sand with each water change.
