So every since i bought a house and moved from my apt. My tank went on a slow downward spiral. So it was time for a rebuild. I was battling hair algea on my frag racks and back glass the mushrooms and button polyps were taking up room and the aptisia were starting to take over. so rather then fight a loosing battle i tore the tank down and started over. I dont have all the equipment for my 125 gallon build yet but i did not want to get out of the hobby.

Here is a pick of what the tank looked like before the move

I had just cleaned the sump so i stirred a lot of mess up but it was still pretty disapointing that the tank got to that point but life happens. Robert was awesome enough to hook me up with a bunch of new to me rock and and skimmer he had lying around so i got to work with cleaning the rock muriatic acid style

After that was done i built a cardboard model of my tank and started playing with the rock got it how i wanted it and held it together with some

Then it was time to mod the stand for the apex that was collecting dust in my closet

Then i modified the old top to house the rapid led onyx i have

I took the old black background off the back and spend 2 hours scrapping coraline algea of the back glass but i got it done after that i painted the tank back black which is so much better looking

Moved the stand and tank back into the house and got it ready to put back up
Went out and got new salt and then got the tank wet

After setup i did not how there was shadowing in the back corners so i had some custom light hangers build and hung the light over the tank and the pick below is how she sits time to start adding.

It turned out great i did all this within a weeks time other then haning the light. the sad part about this is i stress out my clown and after 9 years with me my maroon went the the big ocean in the sky. My bi color blenny fell to his doom when he was hiding in a rock and fell into a empty bucket. And my 2 gobies tried to dart under rocks and smashed head first into them in the holding tank. So i am turely starting over and i hate when fish die umder my care all of them i have had for no less then 3 years. But thats my rebuild and i hope you guys enjoy

Thanks guys, i like the look of no rock wall. And i like the fact that i have absolutely no pest now i just have to keep it that way

Wow that was a really great read, the loss of the fish sucks but it looks like the rebuild is going great!

Good news everyone my tank is on the right track. Its been up a little over a week it finished the cycle on tuesday and i did a water change Wednesday. Added 4 chromis Thursday and they made it 24 hours and are eating and swimming about in the flow

Very cool. What's the stocking plan for both coral and fish?

So since the tank is small i want an awesome fish list. Being that i have kept 4 fish in this size tank before that is more then likely what ill do. My 4 fish are gonna be
1. Frostbite clown
2. Wyoming white clown
3. Black cap basslet
4. Blue dot jawfish
If i could do 5 it would be a long nose hawkfish or a folco hawkfish
As for corals its gonna be a zoa, acan, stick tank with some other mixed in. Somewhat of a mixed reef

Upate time Added some corals tonight. Lost the first batch of chormis. Went over to carlos and took 10 gallons of water from his tank and rinsed his filter sock and foam pads in the water. Added it to the tank waited 4 days added 2 new chromis last friday and they are still alive. Whoo hoo! BIG THANKS to carlos for being a great club member and a great friend for the hook up on the corals.
