2 6055s on 7091. Can set to run 55 min of every hour??

Hi Roger et al.

I'm using two 6055s in my 40 breeder on a 7091 controller. I'd like to have them shut off once every hour or two for a few minutes. By how much would this shorten the motors' life? Probably not nearly as much as if on a generic wave power strip/timer, but would it be significant?

Hello Craig, you should be ok to shut off your pump every hour. The pump is design to run on interval, pulse which is variable speed.

with the 6055's and the top controller, do you have control over how much the pumps put out? Can I run them anywhere between 0-100% of their output?

You do have control over the pump and controller but not from 0-100%. The Controller is 30-100%

Hi Craig, This would be OK, the main issue with turning the pumps off is that calcium builds up faster when the pumps are cycled on and off so you need to clean them more often.
