2 amps

2 amps for what? 2 amps is about 240 watts. For a light bulb, that's not bad. For a protein skimmer, that's a lot.

At 240 watts the pump should be about 1/6 hp and should push about 3500 GPH at 4 foot head. This is very reasonable for a pump if these are the specs.

I use all sequence pumps in my store and LOVE them. Very quiet and efficient.

It may be too much for that tank just due to the 4' footprint of those tanks. If you have it on an Oceans motion 4 way or you have multiple outlets you may be OK. Take a look at the Snapper. I use one for a closed loop with 2 1" sea swirls and it does a good job on my 96x30x12 coral tank.

The sequence is will be used for a close loop with 2 returns lines. I thought about the snapper but this pump is new since I had it I was going to put it to use

Great pump. I have the smaller dart and love it. It has been working trouble free for over two years, even ran dry once for a couple of hours and it didn't seem to phase it. BTW the barracuda is a 325W pump, their 2 amp. spec. did a bit of rounding.

my main concern is energy usage do you think it will work

Pump Max GPH 4' head GPH Power requirements
Snapper 2400gph 1850gph 0.9A/98W
Dart 3600gph 2820gph 1.4A/160W
Barracuda 4500gph 3780gph 2.0A/325W
Hammerhead 5800gph 5520gph 3.0A/350W

Above is the chart I got from Marine Depot's site and you can see that the Dart delivers about 3/4 the flow with 1/2 the electricity. That is why I chose it. On a closed loop you will get close to the Max GPH as long as your plumbing is sufficiently large. On the dart it is very important to have a 2 inch input line. Hope this helps. I should say that the Barracuda is very efficient also, just the Dart is made for lots of flow but does not support a lot of output head pressure.

If I were you, I'd consider at least 4 outputs instead of two outputs. 4500 gph going through two pipe can produce a pretty powerful flow. Like everyone else said - Sequence pumps are awesome!
