2 anenomes and 2 pairs of clowns????

Hi everyone! I have a pair of onyx...just a gorgeous fish...they are being
hosted by a magnifica anenome.....in a 280 gallon 8 ft long reef.....

They are at one end of the tank......doing well...and not wondering......

I am wondering if you feel I could EASILY get away with a bubble tip
anenome at the other end of the 8 ft tank with a pair of black percs
in that one? Of course I would have to find the percs and make sure
they tank to it etc...but I think I can make that happen

Any risks? High risk????

I have never kept more then 1 pair of percs in same tank.....

However I love the combination and would like to have 2 pair in this tank if I can do it without any fighting between the pairs etc....

Comments/input/suggestions welcome.

Thanks very much

Tim

I would say that what you are proposing has a high risk of something not going in your favor, plus H. mag is a natural host for both ocellaris and percula meaning it would be more attractive than the bubble anemone. Also who is to say that the new clown fish will stay at the other end of the tank. You do have a fairly large aquarium, and if you were to try it just keep a watchful eye and separate the clowns if necessary.

yes black Oce was the plan.....

I think I will now pass on the idea...was only something I was pondering.

Thanks,
Tim

I have a pair of skunks in a mag and a solo black saddleback in a BTA in my 4ft and they get on very well. One skunk is obviously a female and the solo saddleback is a female, no bickering.

Upgrading to a 600L soon so they'll get more space, but they seem very happy. So personally I wouldn't see the issue in an 8ft tank lol

I have saddlebacks B/W on my haddoni and regular ocellaris in my giganteas, they are both pairs in my 225,one fight but that is all she wrote on the rumble. The female saddleback attempted to dethrone the ocellaris but lost so they stay on their side of the tank.

i had a pair of false perc and a pair of bw in my 8' 240g. they were fine for a day or two then all they did was fight. had to get rid of a pair b4 they killed each other.

I am not sure why mine are doing alright,it has been a week now and my friend was suprised too but they are both young clowns right now.

thanks

thanks

thanks guys...I won't risk it at this point.....I knew it was a long shot but was just double checking as the idea was strong.....I love clowns in anenomes so much I wanted two pairs! haha.

But.. I will stay with the single pair and with peace of mind.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim did the Mag ever move on you? Why do you try what mobert did with like 30 clowns and get a lot more anemones(see the sticky)?

mAG STAYED in place!

mAG STAYED in place!

The Magnifica stayed perfectly in place..he is just sooooo happy...
He has perfect lighting, perfect flow, perfect clowns, andddd he is isolated
on his own throne!!!!!! Worked perfectly!!!!! I am thrilled!!!

Whoever said he would stay put due to not being able to see a route higher
was 100% correct I believe...and that was a good piece of knowledge for me.

thanks again.
