ok tank has been established 1 month and counting. all tests are perfect even my local dealer said so. i added 1 chromis 2 days ago and that didnt go so well, so i thought maybe it was a bad fish. got another today and this thing hit the toilet as well. now im super frustrated at this point and i dont know what is going on. any help??
 
So give us some more info. When you cycled your tank did you experience the ammonia spike? How did you acclimate the fish to your tank? What is your salinity? LFS try to save money by having their salinity low in their display tanks so if you didn't allow proper acclimation you may have stressed the fish to the point of dying.
 
salinity is 1.024, acclimation was a drip in a black bucket. i did this for 1 and a half hours as told. i didnt really notice a ph spike. when does this hit?
 
Something has to be out of whack if you keep losing fish... Check your test kits and make sure there all good and give us a list of parameters for your tank...
 
ok here is the story. i got ro water that was premixed by him. all perimeters are good right now. he told me i can put a fish in a week after if i use his water. now i have yet to believe this considering i lost 2 fish in 4 days. i also never noticed a ammonia spike and drop back to 0. i test every day. i mistaked the time my tank has been running, its been 3 weeks come friday.
 
Hmmmm, you should still be cycling or at least maybe. How did you set your tank up and what test kits are you using?
 
It might be possible that the tank has cycled already. Not because you used his water but because you used some cured live rock. But because your not showing ammonia I don't think the fish died from ammonia toxicity i tend to think it came from the acclimation.
 
1.5 hours is a long time to acclimate unless you had the fish in a bag for hours while transporting it. Do you have any idea what the LFS salinity is?
 
his water has nothing to do with the cycle,maybe his established rock could have helped..i would say the tank isnt cycled yet..-Drew
 
when i added the fish, i noticed it breathing very fast. it was hiding for about 3 hours. i look and this thing is upside down 4 hours later
