2 much flow? ASAP!!!

hi all just got my firdt bta 2 day

i have 2 maxi jet 1200 in my 3ft 40gal is this 2 much 4 the anemone? i have turned off the powerheads 4 now untill it gets settled im frighted it will get sucked up!!!

please reply asap!!!

oh no call the fire dept ASAP....
...calm down. turn the powerheads on as long as they're not near BTA. if it makes u feel better get some sponge screen covers for the MJ inlet.

ok thx but do i have 2 much flow for my 3ft 40gal? when the ph were on the bta was blowing everywhere

Two maxi jet 1200 is probably a little much for a bta in a 40 gal aquarium. Once it gets attached it may try to move to a quiet spot.

IMO not too much flow. did u let the BTA attach itself before blowing on it. place MJ 1200's bouncing off walls w/ BTA somewhere in the middle of it all. just take caution w/ inlet screens.

IMO not too much flow unless its blasting directly on it...have the flow bounce off the walls or use a hydor...in my 20L I have a MJ1200 with hydor and A SIEO620 and my RBTA is right out in front,but my GBTA hides in the back of the tank

Almost forgot check this info out for covering your intakes the craft sheet works well and is easy to clean, slide right off, and costs about $1

If the 2 powerheads are the only flow in the 40, I would be worried about not having enough.

I've got a sebae, and 2 btas in my 58gal (same as 40 gal in footprint)

I've got 2 seio820s, a 900gph return, and a maximod. They do fine, I dont think flow is your issue.

For the first couple days the high flow may cause your anemone to float around because it hasn't found a place to attach yet. Once it is attached you should be okay.

I actually had similar question. so do anemone's like low flow? mine is well settled now but is more on the side of a rock instead of right on top. do you think he is down there because there is to much flow on him or its just where he likes it?

not too much flow...make sure flow isnt blowing directly on it and also make sure there are plent of low flow areas he can move too if he doesnt like the flow.

Too much flow, NOT I got a dart closed loop at aprox 2400 gph and a mag 18 at about 1000 gph, not to mention 2 1100 seio's and I was worried about it not being enough in my 65 gal.

like said above as long as its not inches from the BTA it should be great if not enough, Cover those intakes though otherwise you'll be sorry
