Had a pair of fake clowns in my 29g biocube for roughly 5 months - the female isnt accepting the male, at least that's my thought. She bullies him into a corner and rushes him when he moves, the male sometimes fallows her around and does the seizure shake thing and she just ignores him then other times she just rushes him and bullies him into the bottom of the tank. What gives?

My second question is maybe a month ago, the female went to the back wall of the biocube and vertically for maybe a week stayed in one place, didnt move around to much - any idea what she was doing?

There is no such thing as a fake clown - I assure you, they are real clowns. :) Its False Percula. :)

The male's behaviour and female's reaction is quite normal. It takes many months for a true bond to be formed.

Sounds like the female was getting comfortable with her home. As long as she is eating normally, I wouldnt give her behaviour much concern. They are clowns - they have personalities.

Happening to me too. problem is, male is getting too much abuse and is now looking pretty pale and weak...

Sorry to hear that - i read if you remove the male and rearrange your rocks- reintroduce male the female might accept the same male because she is thrown of by the rearranging.
Mine isnt beat up yet - the female doesnt attack the male mine just rushes and forces him into the corner.

How much bigger is the female than the male? I had an issue pairing when one was almost the same the size of the other, but when I replaced him with a much smaller one, only a few hours of chasing and nipping, now sharing the same host Xenia (she use to keep other male in the corner)

Problem Is, the male keeps hiding AT the nem so when the female sees him, he rushes him and traps him at the nem and starts attacking him. ill try to move my rocks. Im just afraid i might hurt/stress my damselfish

Not the same size - male is maybe a inch while the female might be pushing 2 inches

Turtle, your signature says you have 4 clowns in a 40g - I read something stating if a pair of clowns become a pair they will kill off the other clowns in the tank, thats why its not suggested to keep more then a pair in a smaller size tank. Im not to positive, if anyone is more educated on the matter maybe they could add their two cents, just going on what I remember reading in a thread browsing the forums.
