Adding my Blue Hippo Tang this week to my 55gal tank. Yes, I know I will need a bigger tank in a couple of years.... Anyway, my Clarkii's are a bit rough. I was considering adding 2 fish at the same time as suggested in another current thread. The only other fish I have is a Fire Goby. Would it be wise to add an additional fish (besides the Hippo) to reduce spread on the Tang? If so, what?

Secondly, I do water changes every single Friday like clockwork. Up until a week ago I had a 30gal tank and changed 12-13gal of water weekly. How much should I change each week with my 55? With rock, etc. my water volume is probably about 52-53 gallons.

One or two doesn't matter as much as quarantine to make sure the fish is/are disease free and to get it/them eating well ,imo. Good luck with it.

a total of 30 to 40% water changes per month should be ok.
