2009 Club Meetings

Can we start a thread to start the meetings for 2009? I know we need to plug in the ones that we always have at the LFS and then we need to have some people vol for hosting them in there house. I think we need to double check if North will host the joint one in Dec again.

Wayne... we've been talking about getting to this. I think the plan is to line up the next couple months and then leave the new board to set-up the rest, but I'll leave Jack to get into the specifics.

I guess we need to have someone volunteer for a Feb and March meeting. The elections are in March and that is when the new crew takes over. We've typically been doing them on the second weekend (Saturday or Sunday) of the month. I'm not sure if a holiday falls on the second weekend in Feb or not. Any takers?

OK....hmmm well if no one steps up in the next day or 2 and volunteers to host a feb or march meeting, then we may be having a lot of meeting in Murfreesboro. We need some help here to have our meeting in different areas each month. Thanks everyone for at least considering this.

2nd weekend in feb....let's see that's feb 14th & 15th......nope no holiday that i can think of:strooper:


as far as meeting place, i have an idea.....

we can do it at laser quest on 2nd ave (near buffalo billiards). they have a room for bday parties etc (i think) then afterwards, we go hunt each other down in a few games of laser tag


doesn't always have to be "fish" related....just get together, discuss club stuff (like future elections etc) & have a lil fun

My tank is still in the wayyy baby stages but I can host in Feb. but if the 2nd Sat is an issue for you single folks (After 10 years its just another day ) we can bump it to the 3rd weekend which is Sat the 21st.
Has anyone ever toyed with the idea of a Friday night meeting at say 5- 6ish starting time? I know different folks have different job obligations but just a thought to see how that may work out for some folks.
Saturdays are just kinda hard for me to break away from the family and weekend chores. Folks could come right from work as a informal drop in kinda meet so being there at 5 or 6 sharp is not set in stone if you get held over or trafffic. Just throwing out some ideas... Or Sat. morning meets? Or is the typical Sat. evening or Sunday meet pretty much all we need to stick with? Just thinking out loud....
LMk if my house is needed for the meet, it is always open for any meet that needs filled .

The dates/times of individual meetings are left up to the hosts. For the past 2 years we have generally been holding them on the second weekend of the month and schedule them out for the year so folks know when they will be and can plan ahead. I personally couldn't come to a Friday evening meeting, but there really isn't any restriction on that. Same goes for Saturday morning, afternoon, or evening, etc. That would all be up to the host, so if you want to host in Feb, then it would be up to you

Re, feb 14, I don't count that as a real holiday The meeting could be held in the afternoon leaving plenty of time for a date or other activity, or as Angela has so nicely offered, if 2/14 is a problem for a bunch of folks, maybe the meeting could be on the 21.

Feb. 14th is a good holiday for the patner to lobby for a new coral,fish Ect. as a gift though . We always have to lobby right?

Honey I really don't need $50 ROSES that are gonna die.... but this cool "ROSE" anemonie would live forever and remind me of your love... He he he.... Gotta work it what can I say??
