2011 Mtrc frag swap & reef expo

It will be nice to see you again Mike, Maybe sooner or later you will get a tank again. Either way see you there Lord willing and the creek don't rise (Again in your case):spin1:
Bill:wavehand:

Yeah definitely Bill it's been a while since we talked.

I just might buy some anyways estutesman...lol...

Funny I talk to them a week before there swap. And gave the new guy a about 100 fliers that's taking over the saltwater part of the store. He was going to put out at there swap.
We got it cover now and I'll have to bring it up with Them.

good to see you might hve fixed things there, like to see em there :D

Actually if you talk to LFS owners January and Feb are the best months (and the best time for a swap IMO). Far more people are into their tanks when it's cold outside than when the weather is nice. IMO the time the MTRC swap is held is the best time one can be held...maybe a month or so later would work better but much later and your going to get into spring and then everyone is more worried about working on their yard/garden etc...The swaps in summer just don't get near the traffic.

Yeah a month or two later would IMO be better for several reasons, MONEY first off most people are pretty tapped from X-Mas, The cold temps are always a issue in moving livestock, LFS owners love a business bump in their slowest times of the year it helps their bottom line IMO. Just the fact that none of the other swaps are beating doors down to have theirs in January has to tell you something about that particular time. If it was the best time wouldn't they be holding MACNA at the same time as our swap? This is like beating a dead horse for me personally and i won't say another word about it after this but all by now know my feelings on the matter. One man one vote but it never gets to that point as far as deciding these kinds of differences in the club, If it worked in the past we better not change it seems to be the rule.
Bill
PS, And yes i did have a bad day i got broadsided in my truck today, So no grumpy old man comments please!

Very sorry you got hit today Bill...glad to hear you are OK:)

Lots of people have Christmas money right after Christmas...and that's disposable income. I've just seen it again and again. Jan or Feb is the best time to have a swap. If you wait till it warms up it's too late. Most people aren't like you Bill and thinking reef tanks all year;)

Chris

sorry about yoour truck bill. glad no one was hurt.

chris has a good point. also some people will be gettin tax money back around that time.

I think late Feb. or early March would be ideal, heck I don't even get my W2 until first couple weeks of Feb. I'd say most return checks arrive in March or later. And if you have kids, no such thing as having "Christmas money after Christmas" LOL...

Thanks to all that have asked about my health, I am fine and feel a little better about what happened today than i did yesterday.
Now that i have a 500.00 deductable i will be listing some frag packs sooner than the frag swap than i expected. Thread to follow, Some of the frags will be the only one available as they are from my favorite colonies and will only be cut once. I'll try and get a list up on monday with pictures so you can buy WYSIWYG frags all healthy again and bug free. I also have some Acans, Chalice,Duncans (Purple Aust) and some other things also like Zoas and Mushrooms.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and stays safe!
Bill

Do we have the floor plan yet as i would like to pick a table for myself and Mel that we will share. Also never got around to that Frag list yet and may just wait until the swap gets a little closer and do some pre sales.
Bill

Thanks for the offer but i should be picking up a rental today, Mine is still drivable but needs to go into the body shop to be fixed. It looks a lot worse than it really is, Needs a new passenger door and minor repairs on the rear door and one very small dent on the bed. But in today's dollar that's I'd say 5,000.00 in damage LOL
The Ins Co told me with the Holidays it may be a while before they get back to me, But I'm taking it to be repaired anyway. Not like the body shops are closed! they can contact my ins Co and get approval for the repairs quickly I'm sure. They have done work on my last truck and did the same for me then as they are an approved repair shop.
