20H Semi Reef Tank w/Pic

Ok, here is my 1.5month old semi-reef nano:

Im going to upgrade to a 70w mh and let it mature awhile. So, I have to decide if I want to make this a bta tank or a softie reef. What do you think?

Since you have 2 skunk clowns you gotta get them a BTA. IMO skunk clowns hang out in anenomes more than any other type of clown. But I think you should do a softie and BTA tank. The piece of LR with the big indention at the bottom right of the tank looks like a perfect place for a BTA to take hold.

well, i noticed that joyce wilkerson doesnt even recognise a bta as a possible host for a. perideraion so im not sure if i want to dedicate the tank to this species. h. crispa would be a better host for my situation but it would outgrow the tank. im kind of torn on what to do. a guy at my lfs said they liked curleycues, condylactis, and bta's but im not really all that sure. any thoughts?

looks good. i would move the ph's around though so that you dont notice them as much.

I'm getting The new Tunze nanostreams when they come out and they are very small. The seios are just to past time until the Tunze come out.

they should take to it but there are never any guarantee
i would do a bta and softie tank
if you do decide to that then put the bta or bta's in first
let them settle so they won't move around the tank anymore
then add some softies away from the bta's because they can sting other corals

ok, im just going to have to decide. since im on a limited budget, all i can get this summer is a bta(i would have to wait for that anyway) or a bunch of soft coral frags from seacrop.

how much does a bta cost at yout LFS?
at mine it is $50 and $100 for a RBTA

frags are real cheap around $5
