210 build PIC INTENSE

i finally broke down and ordered a controller....neptune apex...now that they will be able to controll vortechs.
I am not looking forward to completely reworking all the wiring, and reading what I am sure is a huge instructions manual.

if youre still having problems with the flatworms and the damsel isnt doing much for eating them, you could try tossing in a sixline wrasse to the sump

flatworms are all under control... i have been siphoning them out everynight and now i dont see them any more.....so i am guessing that i got most of them and hopefully the damsels are getting the rest.

man my tank has come a long way in a year! I forgot how much algae this thing used to have until i switched to rodi water.....big difference...thank guys!!!!

I have some question about this thing.... my standard temp probe come calibrated, and the ph probe needs to be calibrated.
I am wondering what the best solution is to do this?

Also i need to purchase a ORP probe and there is several different ones out there,
I am wondering if the lab grade is really better than the regular ones?

i dont know why your all fighting? i joined this place to find people that share the love for this as i do. yet all i find is my tank is better then yours. thats funny cause to me all reefs are nice but no ones can compare to mine, because i made my setup to what i like. i mean reading this no one really answered anything he asked. i leave you sayin if you got nothing better to do then give someone a hard time. then maybe you shoul spend more time tending to you tanks, cause i know mine takes all my free time

you really might want to think about wear you put soft corals. those GSP ,shrooms,Xenia will take right over all rock there on including running right over your SPS.

I finally reworked all my wiring tonight and programed the apex to control everything, and I just finished.....man was that fun!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to reduce my wiring down a lot though....with the new apex it allowed my to cut out two coralife eight outlet timers, two eight outlet surge protectors, a timer for my ATO and a ton of messy wiring....Plus I mounted everything that used to be just laying behind the sump.
Looks pretty cool with the apex above the tank with the display always in sight!!

Anyone know what the ideal ORP reading would be...and what ORP is used for?

I also was able to setup my lighting to come on in phases, with the PC's first at 10am, then the far left MH at 11am, middle MH at 12pm, far right MH at 1pm,
at night: far left MH off at 8pm, MH middle 9pm, MH far right 10pm, PC's off at 11pm
Lunars on at Midnight and off at 7am.
Helps with my power surge and looks pretty cool too! Also helps me notice if any bulbs ever fail for any reason.
THIS APEX IS THE BOMB!!!......LOL

now i need to get some reactors....Oh nevermind they are all coming tomorrow, along with other goodies!!!

anyone have any cool programs you made for the apex?

wow I've just spent 2 hours reading this entire thread and I have a board exam coming up :mad2: . Very interesting :)

everything is up and running now.....my orp probe came frozen and I dont think it is done rising yet, it started out at 97 and slowly rising. Its at 275 now and its been a couple days. But now that the reactors are going I wonder if its going up because of them.
also i have removed my 18w turbo twist uv, I really dont think it was doing anything, and the piece of crap cascade canister filter that i used to put carbon in and also fed the uv.

Why do you give yourself a bump? It's .. no offense .. annoying.

I spent the other night reading your entire thread. I have to say I am some what nerve wracking. With that being said, it's turning around slowly which is nice to see.

Please don't think I'm hating on your set up. Because you've got nothing I'd like to have. I just think that the way your arrogance has been shown through this thread is quite ugly. You've asked for help, but wasn't willing to listen to what others have said. The thing about advice is that it is given to you freely, it's up to the one asking for advice to take what they want from it. How your system is still thriving is a little beyond me, but hell ... you've made it work thus far. Which is great for you, so congratulations!

If someone were to ask me what not to do in this hobby, I'd have to say I'd point to this thread as a learning experience for newbies. Please, don't take offense to that cause with everyone mistake there is something to learn from.

Remember, that money is not what makes the world go around .. but how you present yourself does.
