You seem very attentive to details with your pics... I didn't see any pics with the silicone spacers where the glass meets. I sealed a 180 a while back, with out the silicone spacers. It lasted about 6 months before the pane gave way. After inspecting the blowout, realized there wasn't any "meat" where the panes met. The weight of the glass squeezed all the silicone out between the panes before it cured.

On a re-seal, ive never used spacers because the panel is already siliconed. it's just the outside that was all ripped to shreds because the previous owner went algae blade crazy. I just scraped off the silicone (because silicone will not stick to silicone) and did a re-seal.
If you were putting a tank together or resealing a whole panel, you would definitely want to put some "meat" in-between the two pieces of glass to add strength.

Ah.... I'm a bit slow sometimes... Missed this little detail. Good call, I thought you got more glass and tried to fix the 180.
