6' 24" 30" going with either 3 150 mh or 2 250's, what should i use to give me the blue color i want. want corals to be glowing.

I got a Current 3x250W MH(10k) and 4x39W T5 420nm plus 4x39W T5 460nm actinics and my corals colors just pop out and the two types of actinics really make the corals glow with neon colors. That hood also has 12 white LED's and 12 Blue LED's for good night viewing and it's quieter then my Hamilton hood I had before.

I like the Current lights that a friend of mine has on his tank. Do the 250's.... You may be able to get by with the 175's but you'll never be sorry you went with the 250's. You can get the blue colors you want with Higher K rated bulbs and or actinic supplementation. If you have the choice get 250's with T5 supplementation.

If chosing the Current light suggested above, use a 15 - 20K MH bulbs and in the T5's go with 2 actinics (one on each side) and a 6500K T5 bulb on each side. The 20K MH lights are plenty blue, the actinic T5's would supplement the 20K blues and the 6500 T5's would be bright and add a some brightness and balance or look to the tank and... the T5 6500's have great energy (PAR).

thank u all for the input, just want to get things right from the start. i have power compacts on my current 90, and some of my corals that don't even need much light just don't do well. i want to make the good choices with my new setup
