Should be easy, I think. No lions, eels, sharks, etc. :)

Already have and want to keep:

2 Perc Clowns
2 Yellow Tail Damsels
Yellow Tang
Regal Tang
Falco Hawk ?? Would like to keep him but don't care

Want to add:

Flame Angel
Blueface Angel (would purchase juvenile and grow out)
Saddleback Butterfly

What do you guys think? This is a 72x24x30 with a 40ish gallon sump with an iTech 400 skimmer.

Also, I have a Red Serpent Starfish. Will any of those fish bother him?

I'm aiming for a semi-aggressive tank, btw.

i think all of the fish are fine in your 220 except for the regal tang and blueface angel. both need an 96" long tank when they approach adult.

instead of the blueface, i would recommend a majestic (blue-girdled) angel. it's every bit as beautiful (if not more) as the blueface but only gets to half the size of an adult blueface (usually around 8-10"). I have a majestic now and had another one in the past. It's a beautiful and peaceful fish. It is a more delicate angelfish but if you pick a healthy specimen to begin with, after a good acclimation it will be very hardy in captivity. Make sure it eats well before buying it.

Just FYI, I noticed your 220g is an LPS/softie tank. This may be risky with both the large angel and the flame angel. Of course, individual fish varies but in general, LPS is not safe with angels.

never mind, i just remembered your other thread asking about difficult angels.

I would also recommend the genus chaetodontoplus. The fish under that genus tend to have a different look from the pomacanthus and holacanthus. they look like they are "painted." They are generally quite hardy and don't get as big as the pomacanthus/holacanthus, and can be kept in your 220g for the whole lifetime. unfortunately, from that genus i've only kept the yellowtail queensland angel (commonly called false personifer), so i can't comment on the whole genus. i've thought about keeping a scribbled angel as both my gf and i like it, but my tank is full. Diver's Den frequently sells healthy scribbled angels, although they are a bit expensive.

BTW, I have had the Hippo (going to call him that to not confuse the topic..regal tang/regal angel gets confusing) for over 3 years. My hubby fell in love with him and would be mad if I sold off "his" fish for no reason. He's very well behaved and I can't even tell if he has grown.

I'll rehome him if he ever becomes a problem, but for now, he's a saint, and I love him, and I prefer the hubby to not throw a tantrum over him. lol
