225 Tank build thread

Looks very cool and a future meeting in your dads basement would be perfect! Now you just have that 3 year waiting period for the tank to mature :(
Oh well thats reefing right?
Chris

Eric,

The tank looks great. You talked about not seeing color for a while. I thought I would mention that I was very impressed with what Purple Up did for my tank. I dont know what experiences others have had with it but I was very impressed. I didnt even finish the bottle.

Thought I would mention that.

Also, I am still waiting for a large sum of money to accumulate in my wallet to get the nano set up!

Thanks bro, actually I just meant that SPS color up better under blue light than white so it will take a bit for the colors to really pop. :D I've heard of purple up but haven't done enough research on it to know what's actually in it. I've never had an issue getting coraline to grow with elevated Ca levels so I'll see if my luck continues. :)

Purple-Up is like Coraline Algae crack. Seriously in my tank the Coraline litterally explodes when I dose it. I have an extra bottle if you want to try some.

Got my NR.com GC to Marine Depot... Just ordered everything left for setting up the Ca Reactor except a new bottle and pH controller.

Acme Fire down on S Wahsatch has some pretty good prices on CO2 bottles. It even come filled.

Hey Lin do you still want to sell one of your 20lb bottles?

Sorry Scott, I've been working and haven't seen the tank for a couple days... I'll get some more pics once I get some more fish in there. ;) Figure if there are no bumps in the parameters by Friday I'll be set. :D My dad said the skimmer had a good inch of thick coffee color skimmate today, Mmmmm.

Sweet, I can’t wait to go see the tank hopefully next week. That’s the ASM G5 skimmer correct? I can’t wait to get this G6 running.

Guess it's time for some new pics huh?

:D

Now I don't want to hear any negative comments as the parameters are still perfect, and all the fish are getting along just fine. Still haven't seen the first diatom yet and changed out the bulbs tonight to 15K XM's, holding onto the 10K XM's for emergency.

Fish:
1 Naso Tang (poss Male added tonight)
4 Yellow Tangs (added last Saturday ;) )
4 Red Firefish (added last Friday)
6 Cleanershrimp (added last Saturday and Sunday)

Corals:
Yellow w/ Blue polyps Monti Cap
Striped Acan Lord (not pictured)
2 Head Hammer (not pictured)

Naso still has a little cloud on his eyes but he immediately starting swimming around the tank and taking control of the Yellows once he was introduced. He immediately lost the stress spots as soon as he got in the water and the pics were taken only about 30 mintues after he was in!

Looking good, is that FTS with the 15K's?
I think He's a she but we'll see, i think at that size you would have more pronounced streamers starting. I bought my male naso at about 5-6" and it had really long streamers at that size.
anyway looking good!
