Finally finished the construction of the Aquarium facing today. The upper pannel can be removed for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Waiting for the BRS suppliments to come in this week for the GHL doser. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for inital dosing amounts (CA, Mag, ALK)? Never used the GHL doser before, and had always relied on the Calcium reactor/Kalkwasser to do the job. However, Im still topping off with Kalkwasser and plan to use the Calcium Reactor sometime at a later date when the tank is heavly loaded with SPS and cant keep up with the dosing. Look forward to hearing some thoughts.

Thanks, The Bar is open anytime and ready for an open house if anyone would like to see it in person. Also, was wondering if you happen to know anyone locals with a PAR meter. Would like to know what my parameters are before I begin any coral placement. Unfortunately I found out the hard way in my last set up that these HQI's really had some pretty high UV output. I may of had the fixture just a little to close to the water.

Looking good, looks about ready for some livestock. What projector are you running on your theatre? I'm still running a optoma 720p projector and looking to upgrade to a 1080p 3d one sometime.

Thanks. Hopefully will start shopping for some livestock here soon after the holidays. Want to get a school of yellow tangs and a Valangmi to start out.

Its a new Panasonic PT AE8000U 1080P-3D. Puts out an unbelievable picture and does a good 2:35 aspect with out a lens.

Found a new use for rusted out 4 way oceansmotions switch today. Took it apart and made it into a Kalkwasser mixer. I knew it would be good for something.

Users beware of these (Note the rusted drum) if you are using them on a reef tank and they should be completely removed and inspected frequently

Had a bit of a scare yesterday. Was also a bit comical looking back on the situation. I forgot to glue a slip fitting on my main water return line leading up to the Sea Swirl. The water pressure was so great (3000-4000GPH), that when I bumped the line, it busted apart and had 5-10 gallons of high pressure water blasting right at me and on the floor instantly. The water hit my refugium bulb and caused it to explode and then there was sudden darkness as the power went off in the aquarium room. The problem has since been resolved and the tank is back up and running. My lesson learned, never again will I ever place a slip fitting on PVC without gluing.

Everythings going good so far. Just a little bit of the initial dreaded diatom bloom as its cylcling. Please, anyone refresh my memory, been 7 years since Ive gone through an inital cycle stage again. Do you all leave lights completely off or on during this stage and let the diatom bloom run out? or lights on for shorter periods and the diatom run it course?

Just wanted to post a quick video tour of the pump room and the two new additions. Just finished a quick cleaning so things are stirred up in the tank a little.
